Why Seamless Gutters Are the Best Choice

Seamless Design

The seamless design of our aluminum seamless gutters offers many different benefits for homeowners. The main benefit is less maintenance and reduced leaks, when you eliminate seams you also significantly reduce the risk of leaks. Most leaks happen from these seams on traditional gutters wearing out and separating.

Custom Fit

When you invest in a gutter system from One Way Exteriors, you invest in a gutter system that is custom-made for your home’s specific measurements. We literally create our seamless gutters right on-site, ensuring a perfect fit. We do not believe in pre-made gutter systems because each house is different and has different requirements. When you ensure a perfect custom fit, you eliminate the risk of gaps, improper installation, and faulty gutter systems.

Long-Term Durability

Our seamless gutters are the most durable gutter systems on the market. We will start with what we just talked about above… eliminating seams and ensuring a perfect custom fit. When you eliminate these seams that are prone to frequent leaks and ensure a perfect fit, we significantly increase the gutter systems’ durability, providing you with a gutter system that will efficiently direct rainwater away from your home for many years to come.

The next reason our gutters are the most durable on the market is that we use commercial-grade aluminum for all of our gutter systems. This aluminum eliminates the possibility of your gutter system becoming rusted and corroded. This aluminum can also handle any harsh weather condition, from scorching hot summers to freezing cold winters, your gutter system will maintain its functionality no matter what mother nature throws its way.

Why We Prioritize 6″ Gutters

One of the primary reasons for prioritizing 6-inch gutters is their superior water-handling capacity. A 6″ gutter can efficiently manage almost 50% more water compared to a standard 5″ gutter. This increased capacity is important for ensuring effective drainage and preventing potential damage to your property. With our 6″ gutters, your system can handle heavy rainfalls, melting snow, and other water runoff situations without overwhelming the gutter system. This superior water-handling capability contributes to maintaining the integrity of your home’s foundation, preventing water seepage into basements or crawl spaces, and minimizing potential water damage to walls and landscaping. Overall, prioritizing 6-inch gutters is a smart choice for all homeowners to ensure effective water management and protect your home from potential water-related issues.

How Do I Know If I Need New Rain Gutters?

There are a handful of different reasons that would indicate the need for a new rain gutter system. Below is a lift of a few reasons and their explanations:

Leaks

Leaks are never a good thing and are often an indicator that tells you that you may need a new gutter system. Although a leak here and there can be repaired, frequent leaks are the main concern here.

Frequent leaks that happen after every storm or arise a couple of weeks after you repair the last leak can be very frustrating and expensive. Not only is it a major inconvenience, but gutter leaks can also cause some major damage to your home. A few common damages that leaky gutters cause are:

– Exterior Wall Damage: Many different types of exterior wall materials are susceptible to damage, such as siding, brick, stucco, and hardy board. Over time, water eats away at these materials, causing damage that is expensive to repair and negatively affects your home’s curb appeal.

Foundation Damage: When water is not properly drained away from the home and leaks from the gutter, it pools around the foundation and has nowhere else to go, which can cause your foundation to shift, crack, bow, and allow water to seep into the basement. This movement from the foundation doesn’t only cause damage to the foundation itself but also has the possibility of causing other issues throughout the house because the foundation is the main support for the entire structure.

Window/Door Damages: Just like water will eat away at your exterior walls over time, it will also cause damage to the seals of your windows and doors, creating vulnerable areas to the outside elements.

Deck Damages: Do you have a deck attached to your house? If the gutter system above the deck has a leak, that water will fall from the gutter system to your deck. It will weaken the structure over time and cause wood rot.

Etc: These are just a few issues that can be caused by leaky gutters. Other major issues include fascia damage, roof damage, landscape damage, and walkway damage.

Severely Damaged

If you have a gutter system that is severely damaged, it may not be repairable and might require a full replacement.

Old and Worn Out

Just like anything else in your home, gutters also become old and worn out. The best option in this situation is to replace them with a new functional system.

Outdated System

Do you have a traditional sectional gutter system? If so, it is time to upgrade and enjoy the benefits that our aluminum seamless gutter systems offer. From less maintenance and repairs to a more seamless and aesthetically pleasing appearance, seamless gutters are a great upgrade.

Residential vs Commercial

Here at One Way Exteriors, we install gutters on all residential properties and most commercial properties. When you think of the word “commercial property,” you probably automatically think of a huge industrial building. That is not the commercial property we are talking about here; we are talking about the commercial buildings that have similar structures to a home but are just larger, like office buildings, dentists, doctors, strip malls, etc.

A lot of these buildings will have a very similar structure to a residential property, like a pitched asphalt roof and exposed gutter systems. This makes the process for installing seamless gutters on residential homes and commercial buildings pretty much the same. So if you are the owner of a commercial building that can benefit from our seamless gutter systems, don’t hesitate to reach out. We can get you taken care of as well.

Now, for the big industrial type of buildings, it will all depend on the structure and layout of the building. Give us a call and we will come check out the job and let you know if it is something we are able to help with.

What Are Seamless Gutters, Anyway?

Below is a seamless gutter parts list and the purpose of each part:

The Gutter

This is going to be the part everybody knows and understands the purpose of. It is attached to your home’s fascia and designed to collect rainwater or melted snow from the roof. The seamless gutter specifically is made with aluminum and created right on the job site from something called a “gutter machine.” It is entered into the gutter machine as a flat piece of aluminum that is shaped into the beautiful 6″ gutter you see on homes.

Downspoutes

The downspout is a tube-shaped material that is connected to the gutters. Its main purpose is to direct the water that the rain gutter collects to the ground.

Elbows

This piece of gutter has an L shape to it and is designed to go around the corners of the structure.

End Caps

End caps go on each end of the gutter system to stop the flow of water.

Gutter Hangers

Gutter hangers are aluminum pieces of metal that are strategically designed to improve the strength and durability of the gutter system. They provide the support needed to prevent sagging when the gutter is full of rain or melted snow.
